I believe a college degree is worth the time and money it takes to achieve it. Now a days it is already harder to obtain jobs, but not being qualified makes it worse. A degree is really important in the way that it opens up more opportunities for future life. It may take 4 years to get a degree, but you will be able to live off its benefits for the rest of your life. With a degree you can take a ride on the social ladder all the way to the top. It will lead to high level society living, and your economic stability will make it easier for your life to be on track. I believe that with a degree your life is atomically set. It will lead to confidence, and a newer you. You gain more respect from peers and others because you are believed to be on a higher standard then those who do not have them.
Simply put, I believe the US has more opportunities in the field of education. Most countries I've seen still hold their kids to the standards we do of elementary school, through high school and sometimes even college. However, they aren't held to the same type of education. In the US we have a higher learning ability then most other countries which allows us to be on a more advanced level. Some countries don't even have, or care about college. This is another area that the US differs to others. We have so many places and chances for opportunity that getting into college now is so easy but it is simply up to our students. However, in some countries it is seen as a blessing to be out into college. The fact that they have excelled themselves enough to be in a higher level program is simply amazing to them. So yes we do have more opportunity for education in America, but I do not think we cherish it, or are thankful enough for it.
