There are many important things that come with scholarships. Scholarships are given when you meet certain academic criteria, have certain qualities the organization look for. The biggest thing we know about scholarships is that they help pay for college. However, scholarships can help students be even more prepared. It could led to more information being added to resumes, or maybe even showing you that you are eligible for a lot more scholarships. Scholarships also help students remember to stay on task. With the school years getting short and shorter, the scholarship programs allow them to stay on task, and keep focused for college that will soon be approaching. Scholarships also lower the need of students loans, which will lead to less debt in the future. Also, scholarships can shorten the gap between different level of income families. When certain students are granted the money by the programs, it may possibly lead them to being able to attend a higher income level school. Which for the amazing, intelligent students who just happen to be poor, this is a major break through. Simply put, the scholarship program is a way to give all students a better chance, to give them opportunity.

I believe that my goals will soon go into affect. The only things I have left to accomplish is actually applying to my colleges. I believe I m academically where I need to be. I have all of my grades in place, and I am still on track to graduate. My GPA is currently set at a 3.3. This allows me to be able to apply to the colleges I want to. However, I will still be able to get my GPA higher during my senior year. Most of the colleges I picked are the places I really want to go to. Texas A&M, UNT and Baylor. However, there are a lot more schools I consider going to. I might possibly have to change my search but at this moment, my search is fine. Most of the colleges I want to attend accept students with a GPA of 3.0, so with a whole other year to get my grades higher, more school opportunities will be open to me. Some colleges may peak my interest, that I have never currently thought about. Only time will tell.

I believe a college degree is worth the time and money it takes to achieve it. Now a days it is already harder to obtain jobs, but not being qualified makes it worse. A degree is really important in the way that it opens up more opportunities for future life. It may take 4 years to get a degree, but you will be able to live off its benefits for the rest of your life. With a degree you can take a ride on the social ladder all the way to the top. It will lead to high level society living, and your economic stability will make it easier for your life to be on track. I believe that with a degree your life is atomically set. It will lead to confidence, and a newer you. You gain more respect from peers and others because you are believed to be on a higher standard then those who do not have them.

Simply put, I believe the US has more opportunities in the field of education. Most countries I've seen  still hold their kids to the standards we do of elementary school, through high school and sometimes even college. However, they aren't held to the same type of education. In the US we have a higher learning ability then most other countries which allows us to be on a more advanced level. Some countries don't even have, or care about college. This is another area that the US differs to others. We have so many places and chances for opportunity that getting into college now is so easy but it is simply up to our students. However, in some countries it is seen as a blessing to be out into college. The fact that they have excelled themselves enough to be in a higher level program is simply amazing to them. So yes we do have more opportunity for education in America, but I do not think we cherish it, or are thankful enough for it.
